Flute (piccolo), Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Percussion (optional).

This orchestral reduction of Mozart’s The Abduction from the Seraglio is aimed for performance using ten players plus percussion. The percussion consists of triangle, cymbals and bass drum. The number of strings may be increased.

This version includes No.5a (March of the Janissaries, scored for wind quintet) and full length versions of No.11 (aria), No.12 (aria) and No.15 (aria).

This arrangement was made in 1999 for performances at the Iford Opera Festival in Wiltshire, UK. It was revised in 2012 and has since been performed throughout the USA and Europe, most recently by Verein Freunde der Oper Rund Um, Austria; Folke Bernadottes Allé, Denmark; and Geneva Light Opera, USA.
